In this past week I have had two meetings with department heads of engineering programs in Thomas Moore. I am working with Jan Dekelver to incorporate the Sociaal Ingenieus Certificate into the existing engineering programs. I was very pleasantly surprised as to how excited and dedicated the department heads were to incorporating this program. We discussed the general program plans on a theoretical and curriculum level as well as the feasibility and logistics of the program. We plan to talk to some students soon so that we are able to learn from them as to what they would want and how they see the current programs. The following is my report of the two meetings. They are quite different with very different results. The one in Mechelen has a pretty confident plan as to how we will go about this and is ready to present to the students. The program for Geel is much less determined and we will have to meet with lots of different people and talk to the students.
I am really happy as to how much I am able to contribute. I also am excited about where the program is going. It is amazing that this is being incorporated into their bachelor’s program.
