I was tasked to start a collection of UCD videos that they could use for their classes. Here is what I came up with:
UCD Videos
Ideo discussing the overall need and ideas behind UCD and going over a few successful projects:
http://www.ted.com/talks/david_kelley_on_human_centered_design?language=en#
Not a video, but a tool in which Ideo, a design company uses to help teach user centered design http://www.ideo.com/work/method-cards . They also have a mobile app with these cards (http://www.ideo.com/work/ideo-method-card-app), but I prefer physical objects. The idea is to use these cards in the design process to help inspire design tools. http://www.fastcodesign.com/3036720/let-ideos-top-brass-show-you-how-to-solve-problems-like-a-designer - website about it with videos
Awesome animation about motivation - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6XAPnuFjJc
Ted Talk about where Ideas come from: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0af00UcTO-c
This is a good example as to how paper prototyping can work, but you know that I am in favor of hand drawn versions initially over the printed versions like you see here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmkzu7Pezfk
This is an example of early stage paper prototyping. I don’t love the video but it shows the basic idea of how it is important to find out what you users have trouble with. It allows you to test with users if they understand where to click and what the buttons and symbols mean. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iEB0xsaTwNc
